Miss Universe Title Holder Stripped of Crown

Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) has stripped 2010 Binibining Pilipinas-Universe titleholder Maria Venus Raj of her crown because of citizenship issues. “Yesterday, March 29, 2010, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. decided, with a heavy heart, to let Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2010 Maria Venus Raj go after the organization discovered inconsistencies contained in her birth records, in contrast to her personal account of her birth,” BPCI said in a statement issued yesterday.
