Last week, I got the opportunity to pick Julie Anne’s brain, editor of Fourpoints Magazine in a little Q & A session. Fourpoints Magazine is a publication that is dedicated to the Miss America Organization and Julie spends her days interviewing the who’s who in the Miss America System so need-less-to-say she has some of the best information and insight into pageantry that you will find.

Miss Twitter Pageant: How to Enter | The Pageant Planet

Today is a special day! In celebration of The Pageant Planet’s FIRST birthday I am holding the FIRST ever Miss Twitter Pageant! The Miss Twitter Pageant will begin on April 19, 2010 and the winner will be announced on April 26, 2010!

Registration is free and whoever gets the most votes on Twitter wins! The official rules on how the pageant will be scored and how you can enter and vote are listed below!

Miss Twitter Pageant Rules:

The competition will last for 5 days from April 19 to April 23 and will go as follows:

• All of the Miss Twitter Contestants will be placed on a Twitter List
• Each of the contestants on the Twitter List will be placed on ThePageantPlanet.com with their Picture and Information
• During each of the 5 days of competition at 10 a.m. EST there will be a pageant interview question asked on http://twitter.com/pageantplanet. This question has to be answered in 140 characters or less, by the contestants and DM (Direct Messaged) to PageantPlanet prior to 10 p.m. EST
• If the DM is not received by 10 p.m. EST for that day’s question then that contestant will be eliminated from the competition
• The contestants Answers to the Interview Question will be posted the following day at 9 a.m. on ThePageantPlanet.com

Criteria for Registration

• Must have a Twitter Account with at least 50 followers
• Must have your picture as your Twitter icon
• Be between the ages of 16 and 49
• Be available for online, radio & television interviews

How to Register for the Miss Twitter Pageant

• REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 16
• To register for the Miss Twitter Pageant you have to
  • Be following PageantPlanet
  • Send an @reply saying, “@pageantplanet Enter me into the Miss Twitter Pageant!”
  • Submit the following to info@thepageantplanet.com
    • 1 picture of yourself wearing an evening gown
    • 1 picture of yourself in a swimsuit or athletic wear
    • Age:
    • Relationship Status: Married, Single, Taken
    • Occupation:
      • If a College Student: What is your major?
    • What unique talent do you possess?
    • The Pageant Platform you want to represent
    • Why you want to be the first Miss Twitter

How to Vote for Miss Twitter

• For your vote to count you have to be following PageantPlanet on Twitter
• You can vote for your favorite contestant by Tweeting: “I vote (insert twitter profile name of contestant) for Miss Twitter! @PageantPlanet”
• The votes will be tallied and whomever receives the most votes…wins.
• Votes are not limited

Rewards for Winning

• All donations received* (minimal prize $100)
• Interviews related to the Crown
• Featured on The Pageant Planet.com
